Hilton Head Cybercab is preparing a local mobility service for Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, and Sun City. Our focus is safe, convenient, by-the-mile travel — including purpose-built autonomous Cybercab vehicles when authorized, and other Tesla vehicles such as the Model Y.
Safety and accessibility
Tesla manufactures the Cybercab. Tesla reports that Full Self-Driving (Supervised) has logged well over 14 billion real-world miles, and in its published Vehicle Safety Report, vehicles with FSD engaged travel several times farther between major collisions than the estimated U.S. vehicle averages. The cabin supports independence too: Braille on key controls, wheelchair-height seating for easier transfers, and room for service animals and assistive devices — so more people can go where they need to go with greater freedom.
Local service begins only when authorized by local and state governments, so contact your representatives to follow the path of other states like Florida, Texas, and California. Tesla’s published FSD safety data is for supervised driving; Cybercab operations follow applicable law and approvals.
Status
We have applied for fleet operations when available and authorized by law in the State of South Carolina and the towns of Bluffton and Hilton Head.
Service will begin only after required authorizations are in place. This page is a placeholder while those approvals and launch details are completed.
Planned service
- By-the-mile taxi-style operations for visitors and local travel
- Cybercab autonomous fleet vehicles, when available and lawfully authorized
- Other Tesla vehicles, including Model Y, as part of the same mobility offering
- Coverage intended for the Hilton Head, Bluffton, and Sun City area
